The Northern & Shell Building at 10 Lower Thames Street in London became a riverside landmark when it was built in 1985. Though it has now become overshadowed by structures such as the 183 metre tall Tower 42, or the "Walkie-Talkie", 20 Fenchurch Street, its blue-glazed facade is still a striking feature of the Thames riverscape.

Northern & Shell began as a publishing company of pornographic magazines before at one time branching out into ownership of mainstream newspapers and TV channels. The company now operates the Health Lottery.

The building is on the northern bank of the River Thames between Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Leadenhall Market is a short distance to the north. Monument and Tower Hill are both nearby tube stations.
