Oldshoremore Beach, Scotland.
The stunning scenery and clear water at Oldshoremore

One of the most beautiful beaches on the North Coast 500 route in the Scottish Highlands, Oldshoremore was formed from eroded sandstone and seashells. Known locally as Am Meallan, it is a spectacular, narrow beach of clean white sand. With rocky outcrops and a vast, clear blue sea, this is a stunning and tranquil spot especially at sunset. The rocky Eilean na h-Aiteig peninsula separates the beach from its neighbor to the northwest, Polin Beach.

Oldshoremore itself is a crofting hamlet of just 20 or so dwellings. The nearest larger settlement is the small, fishing village of Kinlochbervie, about 10 miles northwest of Durness.
