The Shard, London
The Shard is one of London's most striking modern landmarks, rising 310 meters (1,016 feet) above the city. It is presently the tallest building in the UK. Designed by architect Renzo Piano and opened to the public in 2013, this glass-clad skyscraper features a sleek, tapering design inspired by shards of glass.
The Shard is home to offices, luxury apartments, restaurants, and the Shangri-La Hotel, but its biggest attraction is The View from The Shard, an observation deck on the 68th to 72nd floors, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of London.
At night, the building is illuminated with LED lights, often changing colors to mark special events and celebrations, making it a standout feature of the city's skyline and clearly visible from the River Thames.
