Exeter Library just off the High Street in Exeter in Devon is the city's main public library. Altogether, the library has over 60,000 books as well as free WiFi and PCs with printing and copying facilities.

Also within the building are seperate children's and teen areas and the Owl and the Pussycat Cafe.

Library History

The building dates from 1965 and replaced the Old City Library which had been damaged but not destroyed during World War II. It was extensively refurbished in 2014.

The Library is open from 9 am until 6 pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 9 am until 7 pm Tuesday and Thursday; 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 12 pm to 4 pm on Sunday.

The building is a short walk from Exeter Cathedral and close to Rougemont Castle and Gardens, St Catherine's Almhouses, St Stephen's Church and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM).

Exeter Access - Getting To Exeter

Exeter is located at the end of the M5 motorway coming south from Bristol.

Exeter's main railway station is Exeter St David's Station with rail links to Bristol, Birmingham and London Paddington Station as well as on to Plymouth. Local trains run south from Exeter St David's to the Victorian seaside resort of Exmouth.

Exeter International Airport, just 5 miles to the east of Exeter city near Clyst Honiton off the A30 has regular domestic flights to Aberdeen, Alicante, Belfast, Edinburgh, Faro, Geneva, Guernsey/Jersey, the Isles of Scilly, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle. International destinations include Amsterdam, Dubrovnik, Dublin, Funchal, Hannover, Larnaca, Nice, Palma, Paris, Malaga and Salzburg.
