Brightlingsea is a small, costal town in Essex, situated on the River Colne where it meets the North Sea. It lies between Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea and has a population of just over 8,000 people. With a rich maritime heritage, the town was historically known for its oyster fishing industry and strong connections to both shipbuilding and sailing. Brightlingsea is part of the unique Cinque Ports Confederation, having been a limb of Sandwich, Kent, since medieval times.

Today, it remains a popular destination for boating enthusiasts, with a bustling marina and sailing clubs. Visitors can enjoy its scenic waterfront, the historic Bateman's Tower, and the peaceful Brightlingsea Beach, which features a row of colorful beach huts (pictured here).
