Located on Trafford Wharf on the Manchester Ship Canal, part of the Media City Development, the Granada ITV Studios have been, since 2014, the home of Coronation Street, the most well-known TV soap opera in the UK.

Known affectionately as "Corrie", the series began airing in 1960, and the show has now produced more than 10,500 episodes. In 2010 it became the world's longest running TV soap opera.

The original sets for the series were built in central Manchester, and when the new sets were built and used in 2014, tours of the old set ran until 2018. Now tours of the current sets are very popular - coronationstreettour.co.uk
