Abstract, geometric mural adorns the outside of Hotel Football next to Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester.

Old Trafford is the largest stadium in the English Premier League with a capacity of over 75,000. It is the second-largest football stadium in England after the new Wembley Stadium in London.

Home to Manchester United, Old Trafford opened in 1910 and was designed by the renowned stadium architect Archibald Leitch. It quickly became one of England's major football venues, but was heavily damaged during World War II, forcing the club to temporarily play at Maine Road, then home to rivals Manchester City. Rebuilt in the post-war years, the stadium has since undergone multiple expansions, especially from the 1990s onward, transforming it into the largest club football ground in the UK. Known as the "Theatre of Dreams," a nickname popularized by Bobby Charlton, Old Trafford remains one of the most iconic stadiums in world football.

Other recommended places to stay in Manchester include the five-star Lowry Hotel, the four-star, city center Holiday Inn Manchester, the Holiday Inn Hotel Media City and the Hilton Manchester Deansgate.
