The Houses of Parliament or the Palace of Westminster in London is the seat of the House of Commons and the House of Lords and the centre of the government of the UK.
The present palace, which includes the clock tower of Big Ben is located on the north bank of the River Thames close to Westminster Abbey, Portcullis House and Westminster Bridge. It now faces the London Eye on the South Bank.
The London Eye is a 135 meter-tall Ferris wheel built for the Millennium celebrations of 2000 and initially sponsored by British Airways. When it was built the structure was the tallest Ferris wheel in the world and it remains the most popular paid tourist attraction in the UK, with visitor numbers over 3.5 million annually.
