Images of Britain: Large Reclining Figure, Henry Moore, Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Henry Moore's Large Reclining Figure is a sculpture on display at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park near Wakefield in Yorkshire.
Yorkshire was the birthplace of Henry Moore (1898-1986) one of the greatest British sculptors of the twentieth century.
Moore sold the original lead maquette made in 1938 to the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1939. The artist subsequently made a further nine bronze casts in 1946, one of which can be seen in Leeds Art Gallery in Leeds, Yorkshire. An full-size artist's copy in bronze is also on display at the Henry Moore Foundation in Perry Green, Hertfordshire, southern England.
