MediaCityUK Station in the Salford Quays district of Manchester is a Metrolink station on a spur from the Eccles Line.
The station is convenient for the BBC Studios, The Lowry, The Lowry Outlet Mall, and the Imperial War Museum North (IWMN).
History
The station opened in 2010 as part of the redevelopment of the whole MediaCityUK/Salford Quays area.
Originally enhanced services to the station operated from Piccadilly Station, but since 2018 this has been extended to Etihad Campus.
Services & Buses
There are trams on the Eccles Line to Ashton-under-Lyne (21 stops) via Deansgate and Piccadilly Station and Eccles (5 stops).
Various local buses stop at or near the station. These include Diamond Bus North West services 29, 73 and 79, Go North West Orbits 53, between Cheetham Hill and Salford Shopping Centre and Stagecoach Manchester bus 50 to Salford Shopping Centre and Salford University.
There are over 20 cycle stands at the station.
